What are the simple joys of life? Life itself is full of ironic paradoxes because the things we spend the most material value on seem to only bring temporary joy yet the simpler things that often happen spontaneously bring joy to our soul and become etched into our hearts for eternity. When you reminisce on the most momentous memories of your lives it would be sitting around a campfire with your loved ones exchanges stories whilst you toast marshmallows as opposed to a fanciful ball you went to where you dressed to impress with your pristine suits and silk dresses.
Here are some things i believe bring simple joys.
Whether you hike with your significant other, with friends or on your own, get out into nature and find peace in solitude. Become inspired by what mother nature has to offer you.
Stargazing is a magical experience as it enables you to wonder what is out there and how much you really know about our existence. It makes our problems minuscule as we are a tiny spec of dust amongst an ever expanding universe. It makes all things possible and it reminds us of how all things are connected in the cosmos.
Knowledge is power. Reading expands our consciousness and fills our mind with inspiration. A simple 25 characters forged in a variety of ways depict thousands of different stories.
Coffee may just be a simple hot beverage but it has the ability of bringing people together. In these moments barriers are broken, stories are exchanged and love is felt.
A congregation with your loved ones, good food, soft lights and serenading music all under a night sky sounds like my perfect kind of night. The air will be full of laughter and the embrace of friends and family will be felt throughout. There is something about fairy lights wrapped around trees, the flicker of candles and the canvas of stars that ignites something in my soul.
Journaling is a profound practice that has the ability to change the way you think. To spill your heart out through a pen as it imbues the crisp pages of a journal is therapeutic. Years back you can look at the amazing times of your life or the hardship you went through and smile to look at how far you have come. You can write a gratitude list every night of 5 things you are most grateful for. Focusing on the good in your life despite your current circumstances brings more things for you to be grateful for. It is the law of the universe.
ESCAPING INTO NATURE
Most romantic dates are extravagant and expensive and there is nothing wrong with that. What is equally as romantic is to retreat to a treehouse amidst nature. How would it feel to have breakfast in bed as you can hear the rhythm of the river and the birds singing in the forest. To have human nature and mother nature together in a moment of love is truly a thing of beauty. Put your cellphones away and focus on one another. Your connection with one another will increase tenfolds.
MEDITATION & YOGA
Meditation and yoga are excellent ways of cleansing your mind of stress. Your chakras must be clean and aligned for you to feel balanced. The body is simply the car to which your soul is the driver. Keep the driver alert and aware and you will get to where you need to be far more efficiently and effectively.
Motivate one another to keep fit. It is paramount to maintain a mind-body-soul connection and balance. Who better to have your significant other as your fitness partner. In fitness and health!
KISS & DANCE IN THE RAIN
Life is too short. Try and find the beauty in everything and who cares what people say. “Some people feel the rain, others just get wet.” Feeling everything intensely. You are a fragment of this divine universe bringing the universe into consciousness. Take your beloveds hand and dance with her, place your hands gently on her face and kiss her under a thousand droplets of rain that descend from the heavens.
